Genealogy Research
DAHS has a wide range of records including cemetery, obituary, church membership and Dassel newspapers. We also have access to on-line genealogy websites. Staff members are able to assist in locating the specific records you need. DAHS continues to build our research collection. It chronicles the cities of Dassel, Kingston and Darwin and the townships of Kingston, Dassel, Darwin, Ellsworth and Collinwood. To date our research collection includes these and other items: A detailed index of the Dassel newspapers dating back to 1893. The newspapers are on microfilm as well as in the original form. This is the centerpiece of our collection. Printed census records for Meeker County and/or the local townships for the years from 1860 to 1900. A collection of Meeker County Plat Maps (indexed) An obituary index A photographic collection of the people and places within our area Published histories of Meeker County (indexed) Church and school records and histories (most indexed) Printed family histories contributed by our members and friends Family history files that have been assembled by our staff and by DAHS correspondents Chronological index of a wide variety of community entities, such as businesses, organizations, sports teams, politics and many others A published, two-volume set of all Meeker County cemetery records. Oral Histories
The records contain a few oral histories. We have volunteers who are willing to conduct oral histories if you have a family member with a good story. We have access to the technology to convert your oral history recording to text.
Historic Photo Archive

DAHS holds a large collection of historic photos. Staff are available to help you search for specific photos by name or topic. We are also always looking for more old photos of people, places and events from the past. If you have some, please share.
Cultural Events

DAHS hosts a variety of cultural events including music concerts, lectures and informational programs, theatrical presentations and more. Watch our events calendar, our web page and ads for the upcoming activities. If you have an idea for an interesting presentation, talk to our staff.
Public Meeting Space

DAHS has a large event space that is open for public or private events. Contact staff for rental rates and room availability.
