DAHS staff and volunteers help you discover your roots in Dassel or grow your family tree
The History Center hosts a collection of archival materials chronicling the lives and times of the cities of Dassel, Kingston and Darwin, and the townships of Dassel, Darwin, Ellsworth, Collinwood and south Kingston.​

A centerpiece of the collection is an index of the Dassel newspapers beginning in 1893. The original newspapers are available in books and on microfilm.​
​
Users searching for specific people can access on-line genealogy sites and search local cemeteries, indexed obituaries, church memberships and school records, as well as 1860 to 1900 census records for Meeker County and townships.

Additional materials include:
• Indexed collection of Meeker County plat maps.
• Indexed photographic collection and published histories of our area’s people
and places.
• Chronological index of community businesses, organizations, sports teams, politics and more.
• Indexed two-volume set of all Meeker County cemetery records, including
abandoned pioneer cemeteries.

Oral Histories
DAHS has a collection of oral histories. Contact us if you, a friend or family member have a good story to share and add to our collection. We also can also convert oral history recordings to a text document for easy reading.
Historic Photo Archive
​DAHS houses a large collection of historic photos and welcome more to help illuminate our past. Share your photos of people, places and events from the past. Staff are available to help you search for specific photos by name or topic.
